That looks brilliant. I'm glad its going to a good home. Seems the salvage man had good taste, not only with his other cars but recognising the need to keep this one in storage :D

Sent the car off to be MOT'd. After preparing it of course (ie. pumped all tyres up)!

Waiting! They had to clean the tank out, full of gunk. It's now running and sounds good. Solid underneath. MOT booked for Monday morning. Will report back. Fingers crossed :|

Are the decals coming off the front windows?

They are all coming off. Sooner the better.

The car was delivered at 8.15 one morning, my poor 15 year old son was on the bus stop waiting for the school bus with all his friends. His elder sister said the Lada may as well have read "please bully my son" on the side!

If he was younger yes but 15 year olds like quirky stuff. I reckon his cred rating would've gone up.

I reckon you're right. They snapped it and put it on Facebook so it must be pretty cool.

Good work there Stevie Boy. Will it be at Foxfield (or is there anything earlier in the year?)

I intend to go to Foxfield. Will probably go to the IFA Day in May:

Got the MOT. Just needed a flasher unit for the indicators, and two orange bulbs as the back indicator lenses were showing white. Good result. :D In fact, a very good result.

I got some orange glass paint from Ebay, and repainted the lenses on my Niva 8)

Excellent. A 33yr old car MOT'd with virtually no problems.
