...managed to get the 1.7i engine from the scrap Niva out and into the back of my running Niva... with a forklift! It was a tight fit, but not a scratch on the paint. Driving with an extra engine in the back was an experience, and during a couple of turns I was regretting not tying it down.

Now I've got my winter planned...my first engine rebuild!

This evening I mostly: Tidied up my workstation.

...How on *earth* do that many bits of paper and other assorted junk accumulate so quickly? I'd almost forgotten there was an oscilloscope there, it was so well buried! Had been wondering where the graphics tablet was as well, that was found to be buried in the same pile.

good advice. It took quite a bit of effort and patience, but I managed to get the entire engine loom out without having to cut more than a few grounds. The engine was actually quicker to remove!

Cut back some pesky Ivy then proceeded to remove the old felt of the shed roof and replace with new. Hopefully that will stop it leaking.

Did a tip run, finished putting the last few bits back on the shed roof, put a mirror up in the bedroom and attempted the JTAGing of a BT HH 2A router and failed. Well the interface is made and then soldered it to the routers circuit board and tried the command line to read the CPU and the bloody thing wont connect.... Will have another look tomorrow.

Popped along to the NW 4x4 response meeting, as it's only about 3 miles from my house. A very nice, friendly bunch of chaps as well :)

Joined the local forum, and will be hopefully going out with them some time, and learnig some usefull skills.
