Spent most of the afternoon dealing with the chaps that look after the Oracle software we use for handling certain emails for certain departments.....Established from the conversation they haven't a clue how it all works.
The team that looks after the corporate email system (me and two other colleagues) have more of an idea we we didn't have as much involvement in the original system as they did and we don't have any documentation/system diagrams as we worked it out for ourselves!
Found out today that I am to move teams and move the team that looks after the corporate servers...Looks like I will be getting some Windows 2008 server training and some V-Sphere training

in the New Year.
Regards.

Bumped the wife's car
I've been using for the last 3 weeks since she's been ill as it's cheaper than the Samara. Set off this morning, over the hills and through the forest and in an instant the thing (Daewoo Matiz) tried spinning round on me. I corrected it but ended up against the armco

Now needs new wing, bumper and indicator lens. Still driveable so it won't get repaired in the near future.
Really don't need this as we're down to one wage until January and I've just lost some more work. Christmas may just be cancelled this year

Definitely glad no-one else was involved as I was in a Matiz and I probably wouldn't be writing this now
Loss of NCB here is negligable. My problem is that we're on seriously reduced funds and can't afford the repairs. It could have been a lot worse though!

Today I mostly...watched the snooker.
Also established that the van will in fact still start perfectly fine even in freezing conditions.
It however won't tick over properly until it's warmed up a bit. Methinks the automatic choke is struggling a bit with the stage between "stone cold" and "normal."

Toys that are not for me

Front loader to go to Spain. He has a MF35 to replace the Renault Super4(i think) tractor. A 2 years ago we took a Back Hoe back to Spain and managed to get the the Renault to pull wheelies with much ease even at slow speeds. So a tractor weight was needed up front. Renault for sale now.(or soon will be)

Stumbled across some pictures of an Auverland A3 on the interweb and realised that I still really REALLY want one, as a project... You know how it is...!

While returning home from work the early hours, i spotted a sad looking red Lada Niva, P reg, at the side of the road in Edinburgh city centre, so i scribbled a note to the owner, asking if he wanted to sell and posted it under his drivers windshield wiper.
With any luck he will get in touch and want to part with it, here's hoping
