Man o man. these are so rare in that sort of condition. Absolute collector's gem. Someone in the LOC needs to buy this and trundle it round the shows. If I win big on the lotto on Saturday, it's mine!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Estelle 120LSE will be next in line to wave bye-bye, once the 1200 is gone. Long MoT to Feb, taxed for a couple of months, excellent runner - I drove it up here 630 miles from Staplehurst in Kent.

Have had a fair bit of interest in the 1200 already, including a German buyer called Theodor Marx who apparently runs a museum specialising in classic Eastern European machines....has anybody had any contact with or knowledge of this museum & collector ? (Theodor - sorry if you are reading this, but know that you will understand my position...).

Cheers / David

Thanks for that crb, I likewise found nothing. However, he is using an eBay tag with substantial 100% feedback, and has recently been buying lots of cold war classics brochures etc.....also says there will be a website up next weekend, featuring his substantial collection of Eastern European cars - but all RHD models, for some reason ! Comes across as a nice guy - even phoned me up at 8am Sunday morning (!) - and wants to do a deal at my price right away, leave a paypal deposit, and fly over to collect in early September .... what could possibly go wrong ? No Nigerian collection so far..... Cheers / David

Well looks like he has sold it. Along with a Lada 1600ES. Would have liked to have seen that one.

hi Steve,

Yes... have apparently sold both the 1200, now also packaged with a 1981 1600ES which would need work to be road-legal again, but still runs quite happily. Although deal isn't quite finalised - just awaiting funds - the cars have gone for the RHD Eastern Bloc car collection/ museum run by a guy called Dirk Marx as I outlined earlier (Theodor is actually his Dad). Their track record is good at this classics export stuff, and they now have about 24 assorted RHD cold war classics which are at times on display or used for advertising and film work.

I have a few pics of the 1600ES if anybody wants to see .... also, the Estelle 120LSE.

Will keep you posted on progress...... Cheers / David

Waitaminit...that car looks strangely familiar...

Yes, yes it does. That's because I saw it at Fraserburgh a few weeks ago!
