Another couple spotted today.

Mk I Golf GTi spotted in the Headington Waitrose car park. Nearly didn't bother with this one given that they're still pretty commonly seen. Still figured someone might be interested!

Next one was a bit more of an oddball though, so more worthy of mention. Took me a few seconds to actually figure out what it was! Nissan Maxima spotted in the middle of Oxford. Left hooker as well, and given the running lights I do wonder if this is a US import?

looks like an import(dodgy bumpers) version of bluebird estate (my dad had a new 'c' reg bluebird estate in the 1980's which looked very similar - mum had the pre-riva saloon)

maximas were just saloon I think, they replaced the Laurel and were later name QX's.

Well the only badge on the back said "Maxima" - though I know that they used that in the 80s as a "special edition" name on some of their models (hence us having a Nissan Cherry 1.3SGL Maxima at one point), so not sure if there should maybe be some other badging there...

Couple of spots over the last couple of weeks I've only just had the chance to copy over from my phone.

Firstly a lovely old Volvo spotted on the M40 when we were on our way back from the EuroGamer Expo in Birmingham weekend before last.

Also found something which is actually relevant to our forum for a change, even if in rather a sorry state.

Looks like this Niva might be beyond saving if the state of the visible sill is anything to go by - maybe a project for someone though? This one was spotted while wandering around in Oxford.

That's it in terms of what I have photos of - though I also exchange waves and thumbs up with a driver of an F plate Volvo estate today on the M1.

The Niva is a LHD, can't see from where the reg plate originates from. It looks pretty OK body wise. The sills look shot but they are still available in three segments. Inner, Outer, Middle.

Looking at the sills, I think that the paint is just flaking off as its a non standard colour. The bottom line of the sill appears to be there. Wheels and tailgate look sound so it might well be OK.

After a second look I agree the sill might be ok. The pic is not the clearest on my monitor.

I was running late to pick someone up at the time, so didn't look any closer. Might take a better look if I head out that way again.

If I'm not mistaken, that's an old German reg plate isn't it?

Spotted the BMW E36 I used to own. So exciting. Same reg, same rust hole and all, but different wheels on it.

Also spotted a mk1 VW Caddy pickup.. so beautiful, I want one!

No photo unfortunately, but spotted an absolutely immaculate "Jet Black" special edition Austin Metro in Oxford a few days back. Definitely has had a pampered existence by the look of it!

Yesterday spotted quite a rarity. Took me a good ten seconds to figure out that it was a Fisker Karma that I had turned out onto the road behind. Took off like a bloody rocket when we got to the dual carriageway. Still not sure about the nose, but quite liked the look of it other than that.

David, I am truly shocked at that statement....... this is the sort of critical information that schools should be teaching. :D
