I've owned 2 of them and they're great cars! Mine we the same colour, too. There's nothing quite like a British Mini when it comes to getting around towns quickly; they nip about superbly, can be parked on a sixpence and are very economical. On the downside you are driving a car designed in the 1950...

The only downside with them as a long distance cruiser really is that the gearing is a bit low, so noise levels do start to grate a bit after a few hours on the motorway I find. In every other aspect though, they are indeed an astonishingly effective means to dispatching surprisingly large distance...

That is some car! I was seriously "on the hunt" for a Lada a year or so ago, but eventually settled for a Daf 33-quirky but not really a long distance cruiser, which I suspect this "P" reg 1500 Lada would be! It ticks every box!

Had to fill the Xantia up today, ended up doing an unexpected (rapid) longer run yesterday so it was a bit lower than I usually let the fuel gauge get - still well above empty though.
