Re: Today I mostly .....
Not the first time i've seen this.
In no particular order.
Chassis twisted
One soft / tired spring
Road camber
Bent suspension rod
One weak shock absorber
Tyre pressures
Handbag left on passengers seat......
Rift in the local gravitaitional field caused by Brexit.....
There is a complete set of chassis measurements somewhere, Tom may have copy lurking around. It was in the front of one of of the service manuals.

I wouldn't worry about it if it drives okay, Mary.
It doesn't take much difference whatsoever in the spring rates to make them sit a bit off level due to the suspension geometry, having the lift on probably exacerbates that effect. Mine certainly had a distinct list if you parked it on a perfectly level surface.

Continued unearthing the garage. Plan of action hatched in the early stages towards getting the new project on the drive (and into the garage - hence manic tidying).
Looks like it will be time to move on the 107. It's only depreciating further, costing me to insure, and hasn't turned a wheel in nearly 8 weeks...Saab as well once I can find someone who wants it...
Lada ain't going anywhere though!

I get the feeling I'm going to need a lot of tea soon...
Anyone on here any real experience working with GRP bodywork?
Edit: Decision made...yes, I'm definitely going to need a lot of tea soon. New project decided on. Something very cosmetically challenged, small and three wheeled will soon be in my garage...

Re: Today I mostly .....
Nope...already got two of them! Well...one and a parts donor really. Really should get rid of number two as I'm never likely to actually do anything with it - have actually found it to be surprisingly reliable given their reputation for being shoddily put together. Gets quite a bit of use exercising our idiot of a dog, and takes quite a pounding given the condition of the cycleways around here and the speed that it gets dragged around at.
Nope...Project is petrol powered, with a 600cc Steyer-Puch flat twin in the back. 1975 AC Model-70 - A licence built version of the Invacar.

Re: Today I mostly .....
Looked more deeply into the issue with my heater blower in the Activa. The new motor fitted resulted in the thing being stuck at about 85% speed. First suspect was the control unit on the blower itself as they're famously temperamental. However looking closer has revealed that the control line into it is stubbornly sitting at 4.76V rather than swinging between 12V (off) and 0V (full speed). Bother.
So next step will be to check the dash control is actually working and then the actual HVAC control unit. Which I seem to recall being well and truly buried under the dash. Yay!

Re: Today I mostly .....
Oh...and in other news, here's a couple of photos of the inbound project. Yes, I reckon you're right - I've completely lost it.
Despite the obvious hacked (and in some areas, missing!) bodywork, it's actually otherwise very complete and the chassis is completely free of rot. It was running and driving (albeit sans any brakes) as recently as 2016, so a lot more viable a project than it might initially look.
I had a Metro like that for a while Mary. Usual cure was to hold the key at the start position then smack the steering wheel centre with your other hand. Eventually I got fed up of this nonsense and fitted a start button in the place of the cigar lighter.

Re: Today I mostly .....
All being well my new shed-I-mean-project should be with me by mid afternoon tomorrow.
In preparation for this and in recognition of the fact that my garage clearance is still very much a work-in-progress I nipped out there and confirmed that there is indeed actually space for the car in the garage even as it stands.
All being well there should be some photos on here tomorrow of a very, very, very shoddy very small three wheeler...
