Yesterday actually! Sorted the Caster angle to remove a pull to the left that was only really evident when using the 215/15 wheel/tyres. Only slightly present on the 205/16 tyres. Removed 3mm of washers on the left to tilt the stub backwards, but that moved the pull very slightly to the right, so replaced 1.5mm of washers and now runs straight hands off!
Then fitted a straight through pipe to replace the holed back box, pending a new one arriving from Alan. Makes a rich, slightly burbling sound (not over loud) that I may get to really like! Still legal, but does sound good!

Spent about 2 hours fixing a Sony laptop. Replaced the power jack, got it all back together and the mouse pad wouldnt work, so another hour spent trying to get the flat cable back onto the motherboard.
Now its been defragging since 15:30....It is Vista with a lack of progress bar :-(
Regards.

computer rebuild

Post by half » Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:33 pm

Blew a vidio card friday, so looked at the box and decided after 7 yrs of slowly upgrading it, it was time to move it on,the wife said let build a new one, so we did. she decided what to put in
so new box 650ps, new M/B 200gsata HDD, quad core processor, dvd player,pci-e vidio card, new 24in rectange screen,4 gig ram and wala, all good,
tranfer some of the stuff I wanted to keep through the network. cleaned the old one up and flicked it, with and old S3 trio card in it, $750 all up less 150 I got for the old one.
She order the parts, I put it together, she did the software, and I did the transfer and cleanup, stayed with XP Pro. All good

Appeared as an interviewee on a BBC World Service Russian broadcast answering a few questions on why Ladas are so great (Nivas in particular).
Shame it was then broadcast with a Russian voiceover (I start, Russian voiceover cuts in, I finish)! Wouldn't have been able to understand myself even if I could have got them on air!
Took the opportunity to tell Russia that we want RHD models made again. Wonder if Vladimir was listening????? :D

Only that it should be available on bbcrussian.com
Apparently it was due for broadcast between 5pm and 6pm UK time yesterday, and they do cache previous broadcasts.
