Exactly what type of locking/security wheelnut are we talking about Steve? Is it external peg type, internal cross type, outer case loose type?

had not heard of search things - but maybe thats more due to living in the back and beyond - but you are right

I have a special tool that I use for removing wheel locks sans key. It's a 19mm socket that had been split up the side, pound it on with a big Jonno and remove with a ratchet or impact gun. It has never let me down and hardly damages the lock.

That's the style of remover we used at goodyear. Most tire shops have these handy for when customers drop off their cars without the socket. 9 times out of 10 they didn't notice their locknuts were gone and a $10 charge on their bill for 4 wheel nuts till we told them (protocall)

just drive a slighly smallr socket over it and that will do the trick
