...Found a nice chunk of kinda expensive
Parmigiano Reggiano leftover from Christmas dinner on the back of the fridge and decided to make some
Fusili al Pesto for lunch. Well, that was the original plan, until I realized all of my beautiful basil plants were almost dead
...
Instead I made some french onion soup, which turned out great:

I put Windoze 7 on the big box last night.. had to bring it downstairs and hardwire it to the router to download the wireless driver. Played around with it for a little while and i would have to say it's actually SLOWER in certain aspects than Vista.. IE8 is slow as a dog but looks nice.. All in all i give it a solid "not worth the time to upgrade unless they can pick up the pace a bit"
Mandriva 2009 Blows it out of the water for speed on the big box.
Specs
AMD Phenom 8400 Triple Core @ 2.10 GHz
64 bit
3 Gigs of ram
1 Terabyte of storage
and when i clicked on upgrade it WIPED everything and did a clean install..... Ol' Ladys Pretty pissed at me right now

Form the time i click on the explorer icon till i have an open and usable homepage fully loaded takes about 10 seconds... Maybe it would be better with firefox or opera... My eeepc's quicker than the big box right now for web browsing

I'll have to dig into it later... It's really dragging down the speed. I'll check if the virus software is tied into it. Real time scanning is nice but slows up the works.

Nope.... No problems there. I'll poke at it later.
Chow for now.
