...Built a mounting bracket for an air conditioning compressor...

No I am not putting AC in my Lada, I'm converting it into an on-board compressed air system. Apparently these little suckers put out enough air to power air tools! I got the compressor off a Passat engine that I'm putting into a buddy's Lada.

Yeah I could but I already have a small air tank that my Dad gave me. (he's a bigger pack-rat than I am.) It fits perfectly where the spare tire used to be. Plus my bumper has an access hole behind the license plate that is needed to unbolt the winch and there is an anti theft device in there as well.

Yup it's a 1.7i (hence the coil pack and no fuel pump) I wouldn't call it a fancy tank, it's pretty beat up. But when I'm done building it I will clean it up and have it powder coated yellow, then you can call it a fancy air tank. (maybe some pin-stripes? Flame job?)
As for oiling, a simple in line air tool oiler does the trick as well as an oil separator after the compressor.

Nice Dean. You must have gotten a pancake tank as they'd fit nice where the spare was.

With all those great gimwidgets you could expand your biz Dean... such as "Madman Off-Road Recoveries inc." Slogan maybe... "We'll recover your vehicle whether you like it or not mu-fu!"

That might work for repo's too..

Watched some old post war movies on the booob tube like Flight of the Phoenix and The Big Lift. And checked out http://www.free-tv-video-online.info/ to see what it was all about.

Time for bed.

The developer of the easy peasy layout took a LOT of flak for the name he picked for the OS. Here's the info page here. So far i really like this one.. better than my last test with mandriva.

http://www.geteasypeasy.com/

They have a newer version coming out later this year some time.

If you decide to try it out and after the install it keeps asking if you want to install it go into synaptic and uninstall ubiquity.

Chow for now.
