Today I mostly...
Built approximately 2399 shelves from Ikea and loaded them with a couple of tonnes of games, movies and books in that order.
Watched the snooker.
Cleaned the pond again (whoever planted a flowering bush directly above it needs to be sectioned).
Replaced one light bulb in the master bedroom...only to have the one at the far end blow about an hour later. Of course I don't have any more spares to hand. *adds it to the to do list for next week*
Tomorrow looks like it will involve building the barbecue and starting to clean the paths and driveway which currently look pretty disgusting and it lets the whole frontage of the house down. Should look a lot better when the red of the brickwork can show through again.

Very nice. My other half has designs on a Mustang when it arrives over here.
Normally I would be okay for lamp replacements, these are those little loop ended halogen capsules though, and being honest I don't have a massive stock by ways of mains voltage incandescent lighting. Long term these will get changed for something more effective, efficient and easier to maintain.

Today I mostly...
Got up at Oh-God O'Clock to catch a flight up to Aberdeen. Caught up with my parents and generally had a quiet evening.
Also pulled the slightly sick carb off the Skoda (reckon it's got a slightly clogged main jet and I'm not 100% sure that the second throttle was actually opening) and stuck my old one off my previous 130GL on there. Apparently a normal mod for the 120 to compensate somewhat for the differences in fuel characteristics when running on unleaded is to fit larger jets to the carb - the ones from a 130 are ideal. So swapping it out for a carb already set up for a 130 seemed a no brainer. Obviously this isn't a replacement for using a valve seat protection additive though!
What a difference...Completely changed the character of the engine. Feels massively more eager and seems to have gained a significant amount of extra power. Equally importantly it no longer seems prone to occasional pinking at low revs under load as it previously was. It also revs like I remember the 130GL doing - almost perfectly smooth power delivery right from 1000rpm to the red line - and sounding lovely and smooth all the way there. Never known a pushrod engine as willing to rev as these to be honest.
Sadly my overheating gremlin is still present...Will see if I have any free time tomorrow evening or on Friday (busy Thursday all day and into Friday morning) and if so will pull the radiator out and give it a descale and thorough reverse flush etc and see if that helps. Block and everything was done when I changed hoses in the engine bay, but the rad was never disconnected at the front and was just washed through from the back.
