Today I mostly .....
Would rather not give too much further info regarding my employer for fear of getting shouted at by HR for breaching policies and such.
It's not a bad place though, job was regraded a couple of years ago and both me and my manager felt that the grading didn't quite match the actual job description, so have been going through the motions to get it looked at again. Whether it will come to anything we probably won't know for a while yet though.

Again did battle with Itunes issue...Got the problem down to being something inside the local profile for the user.
Ended up in a meeting (wasn't originally asked to go). Meeting started off on topic and ended up talking about PCI DSS guidelines. That took up almost 2 hours

15/10/2011 This afternoon I ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
This afternoon I doubled the value of me Niva!
I installed and wired in a pair of Hella 5617 DRLs to the Niva. These are so easy to wire in and no relays required. But who ever designed the mounting end caps needs to rethink this to a single hole mounting bracket.

"Make love to a Niva owner. We need more of them,OVER!"

Gadget, that's a very true bit of engineering.
An extra level could be added after the WD40 though which is:
Does it now move?
Yes > No problem.
No > Use A large hammer.
Also...testing whether I can post here now, of if the 501 error is persisting...
EDIT...it's not...so here's the original post from Thursday...as it's important to me in a roundabout way that it's posted.
Today I mostly...went about my usual evening routine, cleared out some email because it appeared that email mitosis had been occurring in my inbox over the last few weeks again, uploaded a few things to Flickr, fiddled around with the configuration files on the server for a bit, then my productivity came to an abrupt grinding halt when I was informed that someone I know via an art sharing website lost their life a couple of days ago in a car accident.
Calling them a friend would probably be going too far, but we've exchanged a few comments now and then and such. They're just someone who's always been there in one way or another though. Just feels really odd...they were there only a couple of days ago, posting journals - and linking to a really beautiful bit of animation too

yet now they're gone. Their partner was driving and has just been released from the ICU, it looks like they're going to pull through physically - but the emotional scars for both them and the families will take far longer to heal I imagine.
Life can be far too brief.

Spent a few hours trying to work out why a Windows XP netbook could ping domain names yet IE or FireFox could not access web-pages although the AV software could update OK.
It worked fine in Safe Mode but not normal mode. In the end I disabled the AV software and worked OK in normal mode. So then uninstalled Avast AV and all is good.
In addition there Malware-bytes 3 Infections but SpyBot Search and Destroy found 138!

Cut back the Hostas ready for winter. De-rusted, Treated, and re-painted some rusty internal bits on the Landy.
Weeded down the drive.
Emptied the boat of water - Removed at least 10 litres
Put tea in the slow cooker - Duck sausage casserole
