Me again

Ok im back told you i would get another Niva,ive bought my Dad's (Jonno)

Been driving it for the last few weeks now and i must say i missed driving a Niva..

Just got the lift kit to fit along with a snorkel allready bought a southdown snorkel top bargain at £25 me thinks more than likely will get box section sill's at some point...

Its good to be back

Ive told dad he can use it when he wants,,I was suppose to be getting a disco but it was a rot box i sold the vit before i knew that,So dad kindly let me buy his...

I get the impression though he doesnt want me to fit a snorkel etc,I will persuade him with a bottle of whiskey

I have some bits on order, and I have a few days off coming up to try and make some headway.

Still a bit flumuxed as to where some of the wires plug into, the wiring diagram is a bit crap. But i'm bouyed by the fact its going to be super sweet when finished

I don't get some of the VW scene styles though, narrowed beams? (=track btw) rat looks? (=rusty btw) I'm tempted to jack it and throw on some fat MTs and dune buggy it. Never seen a type 3 like that. But maybe that would be admitting I should never of sold the Niva!

Narrowed beams and rat look are both ideas that were kind of cool before everybody started doing them. Of course narrowed beams were for drag racing (reduced drag) and rat look was originally cars that really were ratty, not good cars which had been made to look ratty.

I've seen narrowed beams on buses and you do kind of think what's the ****ing point of that.....

In the states rat look is totally out of control, they find the rarest oval or split bug/bus they can, strip it to bare metal, cover it in yogurt and leave it outside for a month until it rusts, then put thousands of dollars of rare tuning parts on, stencil it, and drive around until it disintegrates.

It's kind of like vandalism to do that to an early rare car, but they do look quite cool.

Do your own thing with the type 3, it'll get you noticed far more than another me-too ride. Having said that, they do look good slammed.................

My fave VW look at the mo is rod style fenderless bugs with the front beam moved forward, they're still rare enough at UK shows that your not bored of them. I'd love one (with cycle fenders for plod of course) but it would have to look well rough!

And here's a rat look bug with all the "correct" bits like polished Porsche rims, roof rack and aircon, which is frankly becoming a bit boring....
