Same over here in Northern Ireland. What's that? Is it a 4x4? (The snorkels, MT's and the ground clearance are obviously lost on some people!).

It's a Lada Niva.

What? That's a Lada?

Yes.

F*ck!

rossjools wrote::D All this talk about Lada quality going out the window under partial Renault control. Doesn't Renault fully own Nissan? I know they fully own Mack trucks. Don't see any quality control issues with either of those brands.

Cheers,
Ross.

I drive a Mack... Over here Mack is in partnership with Volvo.. the '07's (and possibly '06's) that are kicking around have Volvo engineered Frames and suspensions.... All the Dealerships are now Mack/Volvo dealers..... Is Volvo under Renault's wing as well?

No, Nissan and Renault own some of each other. But yes, Renault is the dominant partner.

And just to confuse things, yes Volvo Trucks also own Renault Trucks and Nissan Trucks (and Mack). However, Volvo Trucks is nothing to do with Volvo Cars (Volvo Cars are owned by Ford), and Renault/Nissan Trucks are also nothing to do with the car brands either.
So nothing to do with Renault or Lada/VAZ afaik.

Reading down farther in the article it looks like Russian is poised to become a Car Manufacturing version of India (with it's vast tech-support callcentres and telemarketing) A go-all for nearly every manufacturer and brand. The next greatest auto CEO catch phrase "We'll outsource final assembly to St. Petersburg and save 1.9million in costs after shipping.... I vote to give myself a 2.5million dollar raise  "

I almost forgot.. I posted this on ladausa's forum a while ago Some of you might have read it already... It has to do with a Canadian company. It might still be partially relevant to the gist of this thread.
