TFT monitor problem
I have a hp pavilion f1523 monitor with built in speakers. The problem I have is that when I turn the sound up any appreciable amount the monitor switches off or blanks out when any loud sounds are played and then comes back on again. Any ideas (its probably just out of the warranty period now , that's typical aint it)
I think it may be the internal powerpack? if it has one that is.
Wonder if I could claim off RDClassics for a new monitor after that "play this song backwards" shite. That really knocked it for six!!

If it doesn't work - hit it with a hammer. If that doesn't work get a bigger hammer.

Thanks for that John. I have a pair of Harmon Kardon speakers I can plug in to the tower.
However the screen the other morning refused to play ball it just flicked on then off and on again for about five minutes. As I say I think its just outside of the 3 year warranty. I will contact HP and see what they say.

I am a tech at "Staples Business Depot" here - and unfortunatly when these things go it seems to be something failing in the circuitry inside the monitor. I played with a HP TFT a couple of months ago which was outside warranty to see if I could see what was the matter and just ended up throwing it in the garbage... At the time I searched the internet in hopes of finding someone who located the failing chip howevere at that time no one had - I did find the problem seemed to be common among the model number I was looking at (which I can't recall at the moment) however it was also a 17" HP w/speakers in the side.

Thanks Dewie. I have e-mailed HP with the fault and the purchase date as well as the serial numbers etc. I am hoping that they will offer some assistance otherwise I reckon its a new monitor on the Chrimbo wish list.

Tell you what I did just try and that is playing AC/DC "For Those About To Rock"
Yes it took the monitor out but when played through the headphones plugged into the monitor it didn't - even at full volume.
I had forgotten just how good that track sounded at full chat!!!!
