Hi All,
Hopefully moving house in 2 weeks to a dormer bungalow - the dormers only stretch across 2/3 of front and 1/3 of rear.
Plan is to stretch these fully across front and back to be able to split a bedroom into two.
Have been told I will need to get plans drawn then apply planning permission and building regs then get a quote from a builder.
My question is does anyone know how/what/where to get free/cheap software to be able to try and do the plans myself?????
Am no computer wiz but try to have a go with most things.. hammers.. spade connectors....plans!
Thanks in advance of this unusual question!
(the extension is to keep the wife happy - I'll be getting parking (for micra & a toy!! and a garage..... )
cheers
Stu.

Re: software to plan/draw dormer extension
I bought a piece of software called 3D home designer for less than a tenner a few years back, and that has come in useful for similar tasks. It will even generate a 3D mockup for you. Amazon have a more recent version (though it will be pretty dated by now) for a couple of quid:
