Computer question.

As there's a few computer buffs on here, I thought I'd ask this!
I've been getting E-mails from Facebook saying that someone I know, for some obscure reason known only to themselves, wants me to register as their friend. I'm not on Facebook, nor involved with any of that sort of silliness, so I've just deleted the message in the past. This time, I logged on to their 'unsubscribe' thingy, and unsubscribed.
Then - I couldn't close it down, the cursor wouldn't move, the computer wouldn't switch off at its switch, and I was forced to unplug from the mains to get away from them.
Anyone tell me just what the hell was going on here?

If you get stuck John I'm not a million miles away. It could be as simple as clicking the link and your antivirus software tried scanning the contents of the link and hung.

There are ways to do it. But I am about 30 mins drive to Johns.

Thanks for the tips, and, John, I may take you up on that offer if anything shows. At the moment, it all seems ok.

Neil, you haven't seen him drive that LR, have you?

might be worth you running something like superantispyware and seeing if it finds anything. Also what antivirus do you have?

Anyone who knows me will appreciate that that question won't get any sort of sensible answer, other than I haven't got the faintest idea!!

There's something there, that I do know, but as to what exactly it is??!!
Me and computers tend to disagree on several issues!
