Mine was pretty much rust free when I sold it back in 2004.

Couple of little bits that were going to need some attention to stop within a couple of years, but nothing too dire.

..Really wish I hadn't sold it!

Ooooh...Very nice.

There's a guy around here who's got a Mk III Escort 2-door estate. It's bright orange though, with brown velour interior. So a suitably 80s car!

Little interest in the Ferrari to be honest (though a very nice thing to look at at a car show, I'll give it that), the Citroen though, that's more up my street!

FSOs are rare as hen's teeth now! Always fancied a Polonez, even if they were dire and I didn't have it long - just love the look of them and have always wanted one.

Odds of ever finding one? Somewhere between very slim and none I fear.

Speaking of FSOs...

Passed a P plated purple Caro today. Diesel one which sounded as though it was running on between two and three cylinders.

Do wonder whether it would be practical at some point in the future to bring a Polonez back from the continent at some point if I could find a decent one. Don't know how rare they've become in areas where they used to be more common.

6.5L V8 Oldsmobile a guy at work bought from ebay 2 months ago - he is now using it as his daily driver while doing a running restoration - passed its mot 2 weeks ago. (he got bored with the mondeo estate! )

For when the oldsmobile tests his patience (already has a few times now) he has his 'spare' car to fall back on - a Mk1 Opel Manta 'A' with a 3.5L V8 from a rover sd1 that he created about 10 years ago. (pictured yesterday when the oldsmobile tested his patience again - although he doesn't like to get it wet.)

skillful chap - fortunately he doesn't live too far away from work!
Quite amusing as the Manta makes other staff mondeo/passats look huge - but tiny next to the yank tank! :D :D :D

Definite entry from my wish list spotted on the way down the M6 on Wednesday evening just north of Lancaster. Tatra T-613. Sadly it had disappeared into the distance by the time I managed to dig my camera out as I was half asleep (in the passenger seat!) at the time and it took a good few seconds to process what it was!

Proper Micra! Parents had a purply-bluey 1.2 on a H plate (think it was the facelift after that). That thing went like the proverbial, handled like a go-kart (not quite as sharp as my Metro mind you), and sounded fantastic. Remember we took it out for a test drive expecting it to be slow and unexciting - I realised when I hit 90 on my private test track that I'd better slow down...

Was well over 100K when we had it but still ran like a dream, paid £250 for it, and got the same back two years later from the guy we bought it off when my parents got their Motability car, or I reckon we'd still have it. Somebody had rustproofed it to within an inch of its life as well. Sadly the person who bought it after us reversed it into a shed which then collapsed on it and wrote the car off. Sorry waste of a great little car. Only found out when I asked where it was as I was pondering buying it back for myself!

Good spot, but I can't quiet work out what it is. Is it an old BMW or a DAF or non of these?
Yeah, it's an old BMW. BMW 2000 TII Touring.
