I thought that VAZ2101 would have been a genuine plate from Ireland with V being Limerick?

Although it would make more sense if the plate was Latvian, since the steering wheel is on the left side, and oh, the picture was taken in Latvia.

If you look closely, the BMW behind the X5 has the older type Latvian number plate with the Latvian flag instead of the EU symbol.
