I'm pretty sure he does. It is a custom number plate.

I thought that VAZ2101 would have been a genuine plate from Ireland with V being Limerick?

Funny. Not even close. It's a Latvian number plate. :D

If you look closely, the BMW behind the X5 has the older type Latvian number plate with the Latvian flag instead of the EU symbol.
