Contacting Neil

Post by mgjackson » Wed Aug 10, 2011 8:22 am

Hi,

Email to neil@lada.co.uk is bouncing, and the online email page puts up a page not found error when the submit button is pressed, so doesn't look like its working either.

Cheers,
Matthew

btw, After a replacement passenger wing mirror for a Niva (or just the glass if thats possible)

I've just tested and both are working fine.

You're always best ringing Neil. See the top left for number and times.

The email is bouncing with:

Final-Recipient: RFC822; <Neil>
Action: failed
Status: 5.1.1
Remote-MTA: dns; lada.co.uk (83.223.107.11)
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 SPF: 81.103.221.49 is not allowed to send mail from o2.co.uk

Which I think means Neil's email provider is not happy that I'm using an O2.co.uk email, but actually sending it from a Virgin Media server.

That's perfect normal on Virgin Media. They don't allow relaying.

The problem is at your end and nothing to do with Neil or lada.co.uk I'm afraid.

No, Virgin Media arn't that bothered. Or at least here they're not on their old Telewest Blueyonder server I'm using.

I use this all the time and, because I develop web apps, have test systems that automatically generate emails with unusal addresses with no problems.

Not sure if 81.103.221.49 is your own IP address or not but I suspect the email is being rejected due to possible spam from this IP Address

http://www.projecthoneypot.org/ip_81.103.221.49

and this one reports high volume of email

I seem to be getting the usual traffic on emails. Allways best to phone then you know you've spoken to me.

Thanks to everyone that has helped to check this.

General rule.

If you can't send email the problem is at your end.
