Kangoo Heater Problem(s)

Post by iwanna » Wed Feb 02, 2011 9:10 pm

So the Kangoo has a heater problem.

Its either one thing or two or three depending on other things.

Anyway, the heater only blows on speed 4, nothing on 1,2,3. So unscrewed the 4 torx headed screws and had a look at the switch.

Upon removing the 6 pin connector I found one of the pins had melted and moved slightly so causing a loose connection. So both the switch and the connector are burnt.

Now the switch panel itself is avaible on ebay (maybe even new) but I cant find a 6 pin connector for it.

I could just find the wires that run the fan and have it connected to a on/off switch so its either on full power or off.

But before I do that, are their any websites where I will find a renault 6 pin connector for sale other than dealer?

There is GSF, German Swedish, French car parts, maybe worth giving them a buzz, or a breaker?
Regards.

Nothing on euro or gsf.

Breakers want £30 just for switch panel not inc the connectors at the back.

No local breakers have a kangoo in.

Looks like thats the route I will have to go.

Just googled and cant find a renault parts list online so cant find/match the connector.

Maybe worth a call to GSF and see if they can give you a part number and then see if the part numbers match any other Renault cars?
Regards.

Clio of same age, non-ac, 1.9 derv.

Share alot of the same mech and electrical.

However, I do think the heater controls are different shape.

Renault are dropping off a new heater resistor tomorrow hopefully.

Think thats the reason why the connector/wiring is over heating.

Well i fitted a new resistor, its not that.

So now its time to either spend £35-£40 on a 2nd hand heater control panel or fit a simple on/off switch.

I only need it to de-mist the screen.
