Thanks for the tip. Guess the simple honesty of the more basic 240 appeals to me a bit more, but will shop around more when we get there.

Economy I'm not too worried about, I don't do massive miles, and it's hardly going to be much worse than the 20-23 mpg the Saab manages I would think!

Riva estate would be another option too I guess...have been after one of them since before I started driving though without luck...and I tend to think something a bit less obscure might make sense as it's effectively my main car. Plus I already have my needing to find oddball parts quota filled by the Skoda!

I loved my Volvo 240. You'll be pleased with one of those. A five speed manual is far better than the four speed with over drive. These play up and when they do they also prevent you selecting reverse.

Today I mostly...

Dug out, dismantled, reconfigured and reassembled the PC watercooling unit I first put together months ago...Ready to actually get the waterblocks for the thing now and test it in the real world. Oh...and to make it actually look smart and tidy!

De-badged the back of my car, then attempted to wrap it for the next 2 hours or so, I had it nearly done, but wasn't done as well as I wanted so I had to rip it off unfortunately. Wrapped the fuel cap though and that's perfect without any air bubbles or anything.

Also took off dealer number plate covers and rear window sticker.

Sunday I attended a Motorsport Rescue training day and got to play with the cutting gear the fire brigade have...But we cut up a Citroen DS3 rally car :-)

Also ended up with an upper leg injury and was removed from a car by the rescue crew as a training exercise. All good fun and good experience.

1. Partly stripped down and rebuilt my PC as it had thrown a hissy fit. Quite possibly still grumpy from moving house...Seems to be behaving OK just now, we'll see if that continues tomorrow. Anyhow...Removed half a carpet's worth of fluff from the GPU fan so must have done some good. Thing goes have air filters on as well! CPU and exhaust fans still looked like brand new, so not quite sure why the GPU was so manky. My theory is that it's been sucking air in through the gaps by the expansion slot covers at the back.

2. Cleared the drain from the washing machine as it decided to flood back through the adjacent drain pipe for the dishwasher and flood the utility room floor. Again. Had that already once in the last month when the dishwasher decided to spring a leak on Christmas Eve...Thankfully it's just a cheap lino on concrete floor with equally concrete walls (it used to be an outdoor area - they basically just roofed over the area between the house and the garage) so no harm done. Annoying though!

3. Continued to wait impatiently for the folks at the bank to get back to us with a yes/no on our mortgage application...Not going to have any fingernails left soon at this rate!

Tonight I made the mistake to watch Fast Five.....Nah... Towing a safe out of a wall with two fast cars using a winch wire attached to a winch on the back of the car and then driving around corners fast and not having the cars swing around, or when the safe is smashing through the shops, the car don't jerk with the tension/bouncing....
Nah...Two fast too furious too much bollocks!

Not sure about the runway. But I thought they had splitter boxes to give them 28 speed boxes!!....and tyres that squeal on sand like they do on tarmac.
