Yep. Hope is that it will take the garage with the right tools and knowledge of how much brute force to apply about fifteen minutes to do.

Hope you have a good weekend - don't these usually end up with you returning home with the exhaust in the boot though?

Picked up some 7mm chain and hooks to go on the Harvey Frost crane.
Dropped a bit of steel plate to be copied from another Harvey Frost for use on my Harvey Frost. The plate is 15mm thick, 600mm long and 70mm high.

Started fitting the trailer board and mud guards to the Harvey Frost - now I need some stainless bolts.
Regards.

Had a horrendous day at work, then dropped the Saab off at the garage, fingers crossed to be sorted tomorrow. Also crossing my fingers that it won't cost a fortune.

With a bit of luck I'll have it back on Saturday with a fresh MOT.

Then I can fit these too, which arrived this morning.

This marks the completion of any and all cosmetic alterations I have planned for it.

Janko, tricky to say without having my Niva on hand to look at. Reckon the one flood I went through in it must have been about 0.5 metres deep.

Depth of the hot air intake on the exhaust manifold is the absolute max for operation in *standing* water without it getting pulled into the engine - don't forget though that you'll create a bow wave when moving so you'd really need to be careful. Bumper height is probably as deep as I'd be wanting to go with a standard one.

Watch the electrics as well - the fan will spray water EVERYWHERE if it touches the surface - don't know how low the distributor is either - if that gets submerged you'll be dead in the water - literally.

If you're worried about it - don't attempt it.

Might pay to change gearbox and axle oils afterwards too as the breathers aren't very high.

Again - if you think it's too deep - don't try.

Today I mostly...

Muttered profane things at the snow out the window this morning.

Picked my Saab up which now has another year's MOT. £50 of work to get a 23 year old car through the test, I'm not complaining.

Then in return for its good showing at the test, fitted its new indicator repeaters. Both of the originals were cracked so they needed changing anyway.

There's an enthusiasts meeting in Aberdeen tomorrow, so hopefully will obtain a photo or two with it among the bunch - maybe even cleaned at that point!

Good one, I have a feeling it may cost a touch more than that to get my 12 year old zafira through its next one. I was heading up to Ipswich on the A14 yesterday in very horrendous rain when my rear windscreen wiper disappeared, after investigating I found that it had been busy cleaning the number plate!and now is prentending to be a propeller. If it's not one thing it's another, but I did manage to put my winter tyres on without breaking anything.

Today I mostly...

Met up with a bunch of Saab enthusiasts. Nice to see a good variety of models even in spite of some distinctly damp (and chilly) weather.

That's been about it to be honest...very uneventful day so far otherwise!
