Your first car

Post by Zelandeth » Sun Feb 25, 2007 12:59 am

So, what was your first car?

I'll start off with the first car I really drove on the road.

1981 W plate Austin MiniMetro HLE.

Absolutely immaculate car, acquired for £200 with all of 17K miles on it - despite the car being either 22 or 23 years old at the time.

A couple of years on, I traded it on on my first Lada...much as I liked the Samara, and the fact that it gave me the chance to get my Niva...I still really wish I hadn't sold the Metro.

Would buy her back tomorrow if I had the chance.

'77 Mercury Cougar XR-7. I did it up for rallying ( ), then found out the hard way why nobody did that before (it involved a tree.)

Then got a Honda CRX, which was a lot better for rallying. :D

First car:
Suzuki LJ50V - 540ccs of throbbing 2 stroke power!!!!!

Followed by:
1987 Lada Niva #1
1987 Lada Niva #2
1983 Mazda RX7 - the only 2WD I've ever owned
1988 Range Rover Vogue/Hiline
1989 Suzuki Sierra SJ413V (current spare car - and yes I'd forgotten all the problems I'd had with the LJ50)
1997 Lada Niva Bushman (current)

Looking at my list I seem to like hanging on to things and travelling in the slow lane......

They're called MX5s here to. Nice cars but do they not have the girly hairdressers car reputation down under?
