On the way to work, this morning turning the last junction into work, and heard a thud in the back of the car.
Pulled into the car park, just as start seeing and tasting the white cloud appearing in the back of the car....QUick bail out.

The powder fire extinguisher had fallen over, the pin fell out and landed on the handle.....thus setting off the extinguisher!!!!

Not good!!!
Regards.

luckly, the nozzle was angled towards the door jam so that contained most of the powder.

Now, the problem with powder is, its a laxative if you breathe in too much!

Defender....

1. Got thoroughly gubbed by my father playing snooker - revenge next weekend hopefully. Been a while since I last played...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

2. Fixed the Cappuccino's windscreen washers which decided to quit the first day that it's damp and there's salt all over the roads - hence I actually NEED them - lovely. Who says cars don't have a sense of humour?

3. Relocated the boost gauge from being wedged in the recess for the ash tray into a proper instrument pod down by my left knee, and wired up the illumination for it.

...That's about it for my weekend I think!

This weekend, I went to Anglesey to marshal for a rally on a single venue site.
It rained most of saturday night for the night stage
Kipped in the Land Rover over night and then did the final stages today.
Did one recovery of a broken down 106 and moved one broken down Nova from the outside of a bend into the middle of the circuit. (lower suspension ball joint snapped thus leaving the front wheel at 90degress to the body work)

Can't miss it, John. It's an '06 hi-top in silver grey metallic. Lot better looking than the driver! :)

Changed the fuel filter and air filter on the Landy.
Repaired the shed roof after discovering the roof was leaking.
One side was easy, the other needed junk behind the shed moving so i could get the ladders in.

And while moving the junk, i decided it was good time to trim back the ivy growing over from next door.

Today started removing some crap from the lockup where the rally cars are.(they will be for sale)
removed, two engines, (Fiat FIRE and Fiat X19), 4 gearboxes, 4 heads, altys, starters, rims , tow bar, radiators. With all the stuff on a trailer it went the scrap man. 640kgs on the weigh bridge and walked out with £92
It still leaves 4 Ford V6 engines, rear axles, 3 x type 9 gearboxes, head lamps, Fiat Uno 1300cc and Sierra Xr4i 3 door left to sort out and sell.
Regards.

I think the Essex 3.0l is carb, the 4x4 Cologne is still Injection(I think) the other two on the bench are missing some parts.
The engine in the Sierra was injection and now is Carb
There is also a spare carb with manifold to convert one from injection to carb.

Slithered my way all the way to the airport to pick up my friend - only to find after standing there for half an hour, that the "delayed - due 20:35" (I'd been keeping tabs on that before I left!) suddenly changed to "Diverted."

...Due to heavy snow and strong winds at the airport *pokes head back outside...notes light rain and complete lack of wind* they've been forced to divert. Great.

So landed in Glasgow...and is now on a bus. ETA given current driving conditions...About 02:00. At which point I'll have to go all the way to Dyce AGAIN to retrieve them. Lovely.

Bearing in mind that then, it was a wet, slushy mess outside - which has now all frozen solid. I can barely walk on the carpark now, never mind drive on it!

The Cappuccino really wasn't designed with this sort of driving in mind - however it's a damn site more controllable than the Peugeot is! Plus it's worth about £6000 less...which makes it slightly less unnerving...At least if I slide off the road at 2mph and crack the bumper or dent the wing, it's not the end of the world.

So far it's actually shown itself to be far more capable in the slippery stuff than I'd expected - unlike one of our neighbour's RX-8 which seems incapable of moving more than six inches in any direction once there's more than 2mm of snow on the ground.
