IE7 and this forum

Post by Igor » Mon Jan 08, 2007 3:20 am

Happy new year to you all.

I've been having problems with my home PCs viewing this forum since I've upgraded to IE7. Basically it gives me DNS errors saying that the website doesn't exist and as such I've been unable to access the forum for the last couple of weeks until I returned to work today.

I've looked at the MS website and it appears that a lot of people are having similar problems with IE7 all over the web but none of the patches/fixes seem to work.

Interestingly, my work PC is also running IE7 and it lets me in happily.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

Igor

Gadgetboy,

Tried the link on both home PC's and it doesn't work. Bums out instantly with DNS errors.

In regards to your other topic, I've tried this at all times of the day and it doesn't seem to work regardless of the time. I'm really wondering if there is a bigger problem with IE7 - reading some of the blogs at Microsoft show I'm not alone. I even get some page sections failing to load (like pop-up banners and the like) off eBay.

It seems only my work PC is able to access the site. Software wise this is the one with all of the firewalls where the home PCs don't have anything above the win XP standard levels. The only other thing I can think of that is drastically different is this has a Intel CPU while my home machines run AMD...... but it couldn't be that.
