PC Help

Post by excossack » Sun Dec 07, 2008 10:06 pm

Last night my PC was fine, all working OK.
This AM turn it on and booted fine. Got into windows xp and the keyboard stopped working and so did the mouse. :-(
A quick reboot and the same.
On POST I get the 3 lights on the keyboard flash and go off again.
Tried a change of KB and mouse and still the same.
I can get into the BIOS (press Del) and then the KB stops working.

Its an Athlon 900Mhz on a ASUS Mobo K7V i think.
Regards.

The old KB was PS2 as was the mouse.
Ive just booted up with the PS2 K in and windows loaded but nothing worked. SO i plugged in the USB KB and windows said "hello Mr USB KB pleased to meet you, your now installed" So i rebooted with just the USB KB in and went into the BIOS, it worked for a few seconds then stopped.
So now, im on another reboot with just a USB KB in and PS2 mouse(blagged from the wifes PC)
Regards.

Knackered ram will cause phantom problems such as that.. if that doesn't work the MB is toast and you have a nice book-end. :P
