washing machines

Any washing machine repair people on the forum?
Im after a bit of advice.
We have a Hotpoint WMT03 washing machine, which weve had for a few years now. Its had new bearings, new soap drawer mech and a new control board.
Recently, after a long wash(F) or a Short wash(K) you then spin the dial to Spin (P) and press start.But sometimes it doesnt spin or it takes 3 gos before it spins, but clothes still come out wet, like it hasnt spun.

Im thinking control board which is around £140, which if its, i will buy a new machine.

I'm your man! First off, does the water drain before going into spin? You can check this by filling machine on a wash programme and then putting it on spin (without laundry) and watch the water level drop. if all water exits before spin starts, filter is reasonably clear. These machines will spin full of water and if it does it'll chuck water out of detergent dispenser. Assuming that's ok, if you are trying to spin a bulky/heavy/single item, it could be sensing imbalance and abort spin. Does machine seem to take in more water than usual? the air chamber which operates the pressure switch to stop water entering (its all done with volume of water in tub displacing air) can get blocked with crap. The filter on wmt03 is internal and not easily accessible. let me know if you need more

Hi Martin
The water drains before a spin.
Water usage seems about the same.
Items sometimes half load. What i have noticed, it make a noise like a cable tie is flicking the drum very quickly

Well, i think the machine has taken a turn for the worst. Now, when selecting either a quick wash or long wash, it fills with hot water, starts the cycle then stops.

Could be a new control board time ?
Its getting taken apart soon.
