It's cool. Knew it was too good to be true, that said I can appreciate his sentiment and his reluctance to proceed with the transaction.

Pity, it would have been an awesome vehicle to take my daughter in on the school run ;-P

Guess I'll just simply take my lada niva to the garage for some welding and respray :-)

Nice corresponding with ya, simon.

Interesting proposal...Simon certainly has the expertise and experience to carry it out, there's no disputing it. But would he have the time? That said, time is not strictly of essence although I'm like a kid, I want it now.
I actually have two Lada Nivas, one is on the road and is mechanically sound. The other is nearly stripped, just need to use my front loader tractor to haul the engine out but I'm questioning whether if it's even worth the effort and welding as the sills are shot, the rear hatch sill utterly rotten and the front fascia eaten halfway. I don't even need to mention the wheel arches and the water traps to the rear let alone the hatch, the doors and the bonnet. Surprisingly enough, the undercarriage and the floor pans are solid and sound.
Don't think that this is appropriate category to discuss my lada woes, so I'll take my leave to think through what I want and drop Simon a line for advice.
Appreciate the offer, very kind of you!
