As some of you may have read, our Zafira died the other week, the turbo went in a puff of lots of smoke!
its an x reg (2000) 1.8 TD with approx 85k in good condition, had just past its bloomin MOT and i taxed it, literally 2 weeks later the turbo went, and we were left with the problem of an unknow repair bill and the time involved, and getting my fiancé to work, as I'd just sold my niva, so we went from 2 cars to none in a matter of weeks!

so we made the hard choice of using my Niva money to buy a replacement car, now with my NOT working, there's no way we will afford to repair it, so I'm probably going to stick it on ebay next week,

but i thought i'd ask on here if anyone may be interested?

A turbo is not difficult to get out nor is it hugely expensive to get reconned.

Take it out yourself and take it to your local turbo place.

It's more than likely just a blown oil seal on the rotor side.

really? the RAC guy said it'd be scary expansive because it will have burnt the engine oil etc after it was blown, mind you ha said it would have blown the head gasket, but the water is still clean and fine, no residue etc

i could probably manage to take it off......

It wouldnt be the first time a breakdown person has got it wrong.
Maybe worth getting a local garage to have a look and get a second opinion

yeah i saw a few, just wondering how to figure out which engine it is hmmm,

Go and see a Vauxhall dealer, give them the reg number etc and they can give you a price on a turbo. But please. sit down first.!!!
They should also be able to tell you the exact model of turbo.
Its got to be cheaper than buying a new car!

How much do you want for the Zafira? I buy and sell salvage so its the sort of thing I buy all the time.

its more of a question of what can I get for it lol, seen a few dead ones have gone for 400 on ebay etc, ill take a few pics tomorrow and get them on etc, plus make a few enquiries as above

i'm just stuck between a rock and a hard place because of having no money when buying the replacement we needed fast

i'm sat at home being ill at the moment! haha

Probably just sell, i took some pics yesterday and have been in bed ill since! anyway here they are, sorry the car is filthy as its been sat on the drive.

Were going to clean it inside and out at the weekend and take some propper pics

There's a surface scratch on the back passenger side door, apparently Katie said it was a dent where she brushed up against the drive fence post once, But i didn't notice that it was any more that a surface scratch.
