Won't take much effort or time to get that thoroughly sorted. Well worth bidding!

First time I have seen one of those.

Just a couple of questions that I prefer to ask here than on Ebay. I would guess that the most difficult thing to replace would be the canvas/hood.

What is the condition of yours and is it possible to get a replacement off the shelf or would it be a custom job? Too many idiots with sharp knives about these days.

I cannot see in the pictures, but is there any form of roll-bar in it?

What is the engine like in general - mileage etc.?

Open question, if I was to get my hands on a rare motor like this, I would want to have it renovated to the highest standards and make it a show piece, who can do this and what sort of costs are we talking - ballpark?

The were no factory convertibles. All convertibles we're conversions by importers, 3rd party suppliers or owners. Parts are going to be like gold dust. That said, it's a fairly simple hood and it wouldn't cost much to have one made not would it be impossible to make one yourself.

It's highly unlikely there is any additional rollover protection. There is absolutely no legal requirement for additional structural protection here in the UK.

If you're talking about professional restoration you would find it cheaper to strap all your money to a grenade.

A general word about Lada engines. I have yet to hear of a classic Lada engine with terminal illness. They'll easily survive cam chain breakage and have cranks hewn from granite. When I look at a Classic/Riva/Niva the last thing I look at is the engine and that's just to make sure it's there.

I believe I've seen this car, but a good while ago parked behind the old Lada garage in Bridport. I was there looking for a spare part or something. Took a picture of it but can't find it at the moment. I'm sure it's the same one.
I've a feeling I'm not in Kansas anymore.

That roll bar is substantial too!
