What do you mean we are going to be eating humble pie - can you see anyone off the forum buying it at that price ?? If it still had the original rally fittings then maybe it would generate a little more interest but in its present guise probably not.

He's our most recently registered user. Obviously hasn't read the thread though.

I am afraid he is going to have to be a bit more realistic in his pricing.
Fair play to the chap for being persistant, relisting fees can't be that cheap either I wouldn't have thought.

There are nice features about the car but the rest of it lets it down very badly.

£300-400 tops I say.

A non-Lada person isn't going to buy it because it's a Lada and any of us aren't going to buy it coz it's a pup at that price.

I would agree, £500 would be very much top whack.

If it had all the bells & whistles, disc brakes, turrets in use, Hill rally engine etc then yep maybe £1000 is the right price.

even thats a long shot - mis matched paint job etc. For a grand I would want a Lada that looks fairly decent.

Hi all,

I'm glad to see that my Niva has generated such lively discussion.

Everything I said in the description is 100% genuine. What you see beneath is wayoyl with a thin veneer of mud... aside from a nice '07 model that's driving around in Scotland somewhere, it has to be up there with the UK's least rusty Nivas. And the modifications really are a proper job - the way it handles is tribute to this.

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Also, if anyone is really interested, I implore you to come and see it. Actually, even if you're not interested, why not pop over anyway... you can report back to the rest of the forum. It's at Hullavington Airfield, just off M4 J17.

Hi Sam, welcome on board! Glad we can get the opertunity to hear what you have to say. Its a bit to far for me to come and see in person but It would be nice to see some other pictures of some of the rally/aftermarket mods and components. Close up pictures of the rose-joints and shots of the turrets from underneath etc. Speaking of the turrets what's the deal with them? They are clearly there inside the car but don't seem to have anything attatched to them from the underside.

Looking forward to seeing some more pics.

Cheers!

Hi Sam, welcome and yes it has generated some controversy. The one person sticking up for it rallies a Riva (not Niva)!

Ultimately, it's a 17 yr old Niva and no amount of slap is going to change that. No MOT so it's going to have to be trailered. The engine and interior let it down badly. If someone did want to use it competitively there's no FIA/Club approval for the cage. Standard running gear with a lift and TC rings alarm bells. And we've no idea what diffs are in it.

As was discussed, it's very hard to see the suspension from the eBay photos and that doesn't help either.

Personally speaking, I love it. But it's a project vehicle and I couldn't justify a minimum price of £1000 excluding transport.

I think your starting price is way too high. If it was me I'd lower the starting price and at least get some bids going on it. You never know, you might get a bidding war on it.

Cheers
