Re: Rare 1994 Lada Samara 1500 GL
That red really suits the Samara, don't think I've seen that colour on one before.
Did enjoy mine (97 R plate 1.3S 4-door), was a nice thing to drive and was more lively performer than a lot of people expected. Only thing I found off-putting was the build quality. It really was poor in that regard, the Riva and Niva are clearly assembled on a budget, but the Samara was way worse. Things like buttons randomly disappearing into the dash when you pressed them, the gear knob coming off in my hand one day, the windscreen wipers detaching themselves on the motorway, the passenger seat only having half the fasteners fitted from the factory...it just was a bit of a mobile stereotype in that regard.
Would I like another one? Not sure to be honest... didn't feel like it had any particularly noticeable character to it being the main one, though seeing one in person now, 15 odd years after I sold mine I might find it different.
Two folks came over from Russia to buy mine, apparently they were just going to share driving duties and drive it straight back there - from rural Aberdeenshire!
