Project details.
Lada Niva 1.6 registered 21-03-94, V5 SORN, present and in my name.
Started life in white and has been painted matt metallic purple at some point in its life.
The body shell has had the necessary welding done where needed. All the welding has been seam welded, not spot welded. Hopefully the body shell will now meet MOT regs.
Welding areas: - N/S outer sill was corroded and beyond repair. So it has been replaced with a fabricated one made from 1.6mm mild steel sheet.
O/S outer sill had corrosion on the inner/out sill joining weld in a couple of places. These have been repaired with 1.6mm mild steel sheet.
O/S front outrigger generally corroded, repaired (over plated 1.6mm mild steel sheet)
O/S rear suspension mounting prescribed area corroded, (over plated 1.6mm mild steel sheet)
Where the inner wings meet the front panel has also been strengthened, 1.6mm mild steel sheet.
The engine starts and seems to be fine. All gears can be selected. I do not know what it drives like as it is sorn and has been laid up for a very long time.
There is a spare engine and few parts and some glass that will go with the Niva.
