Samara pickup
Samara pickup
I know this is not everyones cup of tea but in order to shrink my fleet I am selling my pickup. It is taxed and I will put a years ticket on it. It is fairly rough and ready so want £150 plus value of tax on the car(about 8 months) and if you want a years MOT,then another £100. I drive it without MOT currently as it is well maintained and the police prioritize tax evasion and no insurance and leave me alone as a result. I am in Exeter. Julian 07772415111

Nice car. Good luck with the sale.
I saw it in one video about Lada's a while ago.
Found it again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xVc9B1T6xs

Re: Samara pickup
I cannot believe your totally irresponsible attitude to no MOT. The very fact that the car has no current certificate means it is unroadworthy AND instantly renders any insurance you may or may not have, invalid. How can you be so blase? You hit something, your insurance would not pay and someone's life/livelihood/hard earned transport or property is ruined.
People with your sort of attitude repulse me.

Re: Samara pickup
Being a traffic cop, you are mistaken with your report that the Police leave you alone. Having no MOT will trigger any Police ANPR camera and will generate a fixed fine of £60, more than the cost of the MOT. You sign a declaration when you insure your car that the vehicle complies with Sec 165 of the RTA. Failure to comply renders your insurance invalid, except they would pay out to a third party. I suppose in short no MOT means, you must be hiding something!!
Shame as you may well have secured a home for the car. I agree with Martin and flaunt the law and we ALL pay....

I agree he should have an MOT. Simply because it's the law. But it's a strange situation when a car built before 1960 is no longer required to have the same safety inspection as other vehicles and is now exempt from the MOT test.
Anyway, as has already been said, hope somebody saves this car. Seems rather unique and probably has an interesting history.

Keep forgetting about this IVA stuff, one of the reasons why i don't bid on unfinished kit cars on ebay.

Re: Samara pickup
Is that something to do with "Freeman on the land" because if it is, it works really well until you get to court then when everyone has stopped laughing you usually get a fine.

Be careful if something sounds to good to be true it usually is.

Re: Samara pickup
Sorry I wasn't implying they weren't, is this the badger cull? top work, the rumour around here is that half of the many badgers seen lying on the verge have been shot and dumped to make it look like an accident. I've never wanted to start poking around in one to find out if it's true

LoL possibly owning a lada is a sign of non conformity..................(I am still bereft, the bank balance hovers between little cash and less cash) and she who must be obeyed has firmly laid down the law when it comes to borrowing from the man, as in it has to be for the betterment of the household rather than the betterment of me.

a group did a study and collected road kill and did an x-ray on them to find a few had lead shot in them
