The time has finally come to face the reality that my Niva has to go to a new home. I am simply not using it anymore and I need the space and motivation to finish the Mini.
I will update with photo's and more information as I get time, but here's an overview:
1997 RHD, Murena Green
2l Fiat Twincam, correctly registered with DVLA (so no problems passing emissions test for MOT)
Twin Solex C40 side draught (/draft? Never sure...) carbs with K&N airfilters
Electric Radiator fan
15" Suzuki rims with good tyres (195x80x15)
Bullbar with two spots
Roofbar with two spots
Towbar with two electrical connecters (untested; never had any means to check them)
Stereo with CD player
Cam- and other belts replaced less than 500 miles ago
Valve clearances done less than 500 miles ago
New Iridium spark plugs, oil and filters less than 500 miles ago
Total mileage is just over 50000 - I will need to check the exact number
Spares include the following:
Complete Fiat head ported and polished by Neil
2x matched Solex C40 side draught carbs
Intake manifold for above
Weber twin-choke down draught carb
Intake manifold for above
Standard 16" rims with retreads. LOADS of tread, but a fair bit of cracking (205x?x16)
Tin of paint; colour matched by paint shop. Bonnet is badly chipped and there are various scratches and nicks on the body
I do not currently have an MOT. The last test had several advisories, most of which I have now sorted out. I have done a lot of cleaning, rust treatment and sealing on the underside of the car. There is no rot whatsoever that I have noticed, but there are some small rust spots here and there. Absolutely everything works properly, except for the rear window washer which has never worked. It will need a new battery (the current one doesn't fit properly) - I will supply this before it goes. The sunroof works properly and has never leaked.
There are obviously some flaws and small niggles that I have overlooked over time and have probably forgotten to mention, but it is pushing 18 years old now, so I am inclined to just accept things as part of its character and charm. I will not hold it against you if you do not share my view; I am just trying to give an honest description of my Niva.
I can't think of anything else right now, but please feel free to ask any questions.
I want £1200, but I am neither greedy nor stupid; please feel free to come and have a look and kick as many of the tyres as you deem necessary, but please do not insult me.
Regards
Hannes
