Following your advice, I used the 'twin lolly sick' method as described but sadly have to report that the wood burst into flames halfway through causing grief and unrest to all participants. I have a large splinter in my John Thomas, which is still smouldering this morning...... However it was 'Fab'...

We missed a bit, easystart (ether based stuff for getting Diesels interested on cold mornings) is nasty, it ignites under compression and always prematurely i.e too early in the compression cycle and causes grieff and unrest in the big ends if over used.
