It was meterman's old 1.7.
Fault is apparent whichever propshaft has been removed, which would point towards the t/box area. I'm still thinking of the intermediate shaft assembly.

Same checks as you would have done with the MG. Sills, wings (inner and outer), chassis rails underneath etc. They're no more prone to problems here than others, but can suffer after years of use!
