Re: 1.3 1990 Riva needs a new home...

I've had quite a lengthy chat with the chap that's buying & he's really excited. I think he'll do the Riva justice :D

I usually always get sentimental about the car I drive & I'll certainly miss this one

Yes they do, I've tried to read it but it's not as clear as gadgetboy made it :)

Selling number plates...

How does this work then?

Obviously you sell your number plate (!) but how does the car you've sold the number plate off go on from there?

Hey Michael, hes not had an MOT this year. Hes failed on brakes the past couple of years. I'm not saying that'll happen this year but it could.

You're very welcome to come & have a look. My mobile number is in the original post :)

Re: 1.3 1990 Riva needs a new home...

Semtex, it's usually the brakes that need looking at on the MOT. Martin, I kind of hoped you wouldn't see this! I know I'm going to kick myself by selling but it's something I have to do. He's been sat on my drive for 3 weeks before I finally plucked up the courage to post. I hate to have to do this...

1.3 1990 Riva needs a new home...

Hey Guys, I hate to have to do this but I've had to downgrade to normality, the victim is my Riva. * 1990 1.3 Lada Riva * 48780 genuine miles from new * New stereo & speakers (not big brand) * No tax/MOT though * Starts & runs fine * Solid, some surface rust (see pics) The car in question http://img...

That really is a beautiful car Martin, the one behind it isn't bad either! But I may be biased :D

My first reaction to the welding price was 'Huh?!, is that all?' especially because, even to my untrained eye, there's a lot of work. The chap that's going to do it is very into his Skodas & loves to keep old cars on the road. He's not that far from me either, about 22 miles, so close enough to visi...

I checked with Neil to see if the parts are still available & he said they were. I'm looking at around £450 for welding which will make her solid. Parts wise about £225 (may include a new floor pan, but may be able to use sheet metal). I know there's more to think about than just that, but it's an e...

Hello!

I talked to a chap yesterday morning about welding & he gave me a very reasonable price to do the stuff needed...

So I'm currently deciding whether I'm going down that route. I've had a talk to Neil about Parts & it's good news (nice to get some for a change!)

Have rang round a few more scrappies and the very least they can give me is £150. I really don't want to go down this route but it's looking likely.

I've recently removed the seats to put in my current Riva.

Anyone willing to make an offer?
